In an interview published in Convergence, Abdelmajid Bouchebchoub, Managing Director of SOTRAMEG, describes an integrated biorefinery model connecting ethanol production, carbon dioxide recovery and biomethane production. Residual organic matter becomes an energy resource, while some of the heat and water is reused in the processes.

This approach aims to increase the value created from every tonne of raw material. The Managing Director explains that the loop is not yet fully closed: several recovery options remain under study. The interview describes a practical industrial journey, its achievements and next developments, rather than an already fully self-sufficient model.
